I recently had a conversation with a friend where I was expressing that no one wants dark songs over the holidays. In contrast, November is always a perfectly bleak season that resonates with my releases. But December, that's for Mariah Carrey and Michael Buble. And any darkness is drowned out by Christmas lights. Surprisingly my friend responded to my lamentations by holding that December is the darkest of seasons... isn't that why there are so many rituals that try to keep us out of that dark. She expressed that there is a real role of dark art as an antidote to what is fake and oppressive about the holiday season. It made me see that there is room for Christmas cheer (and I mean that), but also that there is room for a more complex understanding of the holidays.

With that said, here is my first holiday release - "Mind Turned Black." A reflection on depression and lost innocence featuring contemplative-master D-sisive.
